What is GDPR?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. These regulations came into force on the 25th May 2018. The GDPR entirely replaced the Data Protection Act (DPA) which governed how we handle data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) made radical changes to many of the existing data protection rules and regulations that many organisations such as schools, academies and other educational establishments adhered to under the DPA.
Put simply, the GDPR is now the new data protection regulation that is designed to strengthen and unify the safety and security of all data held within any organisation.
